  • Adopt a footpath

  • Purton Evening W.I. along with other organisations were asked by the Purton Parish Council Footpath Committee to adopt a local footpath. We accepted this challenge and now on a regular basis attempt to walk the footpath, noting and reporting back to the Committee any obstacles that hinder our progress.

  • Ps and Qs

  • Local Agenda 21
Ps and Qs sprung from an initial interest by members of Purton Evening WI and was formed in 1994 - Ps and Qs stands for Purton's Quality. It is now made up from an established group of villagers who have a similar interest in maintaining and where appropriate improving the quality of village life.

  • Collecting for SALTLIC unwanted tools, manual sewing machines, typewriters and on a separate occasion; haberdashery. Several of the items donated were in need of repair. Workaid a charity staffed mainly by volunteers who make sure the items are fully restored before distribution. Many people both home and abroad have benefited from their efforts.
