Community

  • Funds were raised to purchase equipment for Purton surgery. Donations have been given to The Air Ambulance, and Macmillan Nurses who operate within our community.

  • Members have made and continue to do so, clothes for the premature baby unit in Swindon.

  • Purton pre-school requested members help to provide, decorated hand made cloth bags; in which a reading book could be stored. The bags had to also contain a small toy/object connected to the story which would encourage the children to enjoy reading the book.

Entertainment
The Choir and Drama Group which not only entertains our members but they are also in great demand to entertain elsewhere in the locality.

Whatever some may think of the Women's Institute never let it be said that members of Purton Evening WI are afraid to make fools of themselves.
 

       Cinderella's Ugly Sisters

"The Pink Fairies"
- at a production of "Cinderella 20 years On" the cast of ladies was joined by two husbands, the men were dressed as fairies in pink gossamer costumes complete with fluffy headdresses and striped pink and white stockings fortunately photographic evidence is banned.
